Need a daily website content editor

6-Month Daily Position: We seek an editor that can correct grammatical US English mistakes and sentence structure for a website that publishes articles on music, live concerts, and albums. A web content editor needs to be responsible for planning, creating, editing and publishing information on our website using WordPress, which is our current Content Managing Platform. Skills Required: You must have excellent writing and editing skills, with an understanding of the special requirements of writing for the Web, such as the use of keywords, hyperlinks, navigation and the importance of brevity. You must have a good eye for detail, with excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation skills. You must have good interpersonal skills to work effectively with contributors, designers and webmasters. You also need good organizational skills to collate material from multiple sources and produce web content within tight deadlines. Strong command of written and spoken English is required. Other industry standard tasks that a content editor may do for us: Content Development Content editors work with contributors, such as copywriters, product managers, marketing executives, researchers, photographers, publishers or image libraries to gather material for websites. They may also write material themselves. Editors check content for accuracy and ensure that it complies with copyright and privacy regulations. They edit the copy to make it easy to read on a website page or convert longer content to a format that visitors can download. To meet the needs of visitors who view websites on tablet computers or smartphones, editors must modify content so that it is easy to view on smaller screens. Collaboration Web content editors work with other Web professionals, such as Web designers, developers and webmasters to determine the best way to present information online. Editors may upload content themselves or provide material to designers or webmasters. They contact contributors to find out if material needs to be updated, and they encourage contributors to supply new content to keep the website fresh for returning visitors. Monitoring To ensure that Web content meets the needs and interests of website visitors, editors monitor visitor behavior by reviewing website statistics. They check page popularity by the number of visitors and remove content that has low levels of interest. They may also encourage feedback by providing the means for visitors to leave comments.
