have just uploaded a basic flow chart to help explain you would need to download the free version of smartdraw to view it
Design and build database, web based or desktop whichever will do the calculations fastest ?.and after getting working firstly with me manually adding the data via csv, copy and paste etc , then the second part of the project would be automating data collection from around a 10 horse racing websites
( that could be outsourced to another worker / a separate project if need be) some using JavaScript, some in xls format some in csv format may be using data mining / scraping ,crons etc, which will be filtered sorted and multiple calculations,
I basically am looking for flaws in the Horse Racing handicap where I think a horse will run better or worse than anyone else because of distance, going, weight, jockey, course etc, or I am looking for a horse that is a bigger price than it should be on the form on offer, the database needs to be able amongst other things to do all the calculations on the excel sheet January 13th and various calculations from the data inputted,
( uploaded file ) that are done on the races sheet this is the domain name I have purchased if web based it could go onto a hosted site

## Deliverables
Design and build database, web based or desktop whichever will do the calculations fastest ?.and after getting working firstly with me manually adding the data via csv, copy and paste etc , then the second part of the project would be automating data collection from around a 10 horse racing websites

Below is a list of sites and log ins where I have them and an idea of what is needed from each site
<[login to view URL]> log in is davegoodman1 / nuinpost but get more without logging in I think, colours for horses TOPSPEED, RPR. OR last 6 races and best etc. plus all available statistics
<[login to view URL]> real time updating log in is dave6127 / nuinfair list of horses and prices
<[login to view URL]> password is 165893 tissue prices
<[login to view URL]> log in micky nuinbase standard / nh / adjusted form / speed ratings for last 6 races and results
[[login to view URL]][1] subscription daily csv download in excel
<[login to view URL]> real time updating , log in williamhill /3bcwmr4g 5 mins before each race
[[login to view URL]][2] log in is <mickystips@[login to view URL]> / nuinaces speed figures and draw data
<[login to view URL]> might be the best place to get the results from and the course information
plus some more to be finalised
This is the process I have to go through to manually enter all the data onto each sheet
Visual Form Book program which is installed on my pc.
open prog, tools, update, log in, select results to update ( pic 2) ,
repeat the same process select decs for current day ( pic 2 )
edit going, clear, mark all races, analyse marked races
when finished close
then launch Data Export
click results export then race export, change top 40 to top 30 click go ( data export pic ) then select to save as data export file
open data export file in excel format copy and paste to inputdataformhorses on workbook
dataformhorses worksheet click fill dataformfill
when complete copy and paste to dataform latest
go to <[login to view URL]> log in
download csv file using url that changes each day, open with excel, copy and paste onto flatstats sheet,
go to <[login to view URL]> log in,
cards, order all races by time, in time order fill time of all races with handicap in the title into column W of enter values sheet
cards, show all racecards for the meeting on one page, at a glance card, copy and paste all races onto rpost sheet using paste special then text, do the same for all meetings that day,
go to <[login to view URL]> log in, ratings, old ratings machine page, where it says standard click and change to flat settings, ( horse race base pic ) then scroll down to each flat race with handicap in the heading but not hurdles or chase and individually copy and paste onto horseracebase sheet starting at b2 then
then repeat process but this time where it says standard select base jumps scroll down to each race that has handicap in title and hurdles or chase then individually copy into horseracebase sheet starting with b2 or after the other pasted
nofrillsbetfair sheet click open [login to view URL] macro which then enters code into columns Y and AH and AO to AU on enter values sheet, when they are filled, on nofrillsbetfair sheet click load / refresh markets macro, then that will ask do you wish to overwrite and only the first time each day do you click ok then it fills columns abc, def, ghi, on the nofrillsbetfair sheet, any other time on that days sheet if it asks do you want over write you click no then ok so it only overwrites column ghi,
There are 3 types of racing in UK national hunt ( jump racing ) flat and all weather ( sand ) and all the data needs to be kept separate but will combine sometimes for certain results, the prog will collect last 6 form ratings ( where there are enough) from horseracebase flat, standard, speed etc, racing post RPR,OR,TOPSPEED, dataform, and with a way of equalizing the amount going in from each website, for e.g one site may have a top rating of 150 and another 50 for the same race, the absolute top rated in the final ratings column for jump racing would be 200 and the bottom would be 20. For flat and a.w ratings should be between 25 and 140,
The going should be collected using going stick readings i.e 6.4, 7.2 instead of the good , soft etc
and then the same collection of data from sites but for speed ratings plus last 6 races speed worked out in mph and compared with the expected speed needed to win past races of the same type, distance and conditions, I have a formula for the conversion into mph, I will try and get a list of racecourses and race times so as to get a comparison for the mph
Some of the other calculations will be made using michaelandsimmons, betfair, will hill, to calculate average/expected odds needs a formula made to work out from my end rating what price each horse should be and a comparison between expected odds and actual odds that highlights the one with the largest discrepancy between odds and expected odds
The database will need to be able to sort that days runners and riders into racecard order similar in appearance to <[login to view URL]>, form, speed, draw, sp, distance, going course form etc at the press of a button, a sort button where if pressed would show only form relevant to today's going or distance etc
Then need a separate button to use next day to collect the results of the previous day mainly distance beaten and speed/time of race from a website ( horseracebase) and compare the actual results with my predictions and then using a formula / algorithm (which needs creating) and the % columns from my calculations ? races sheet to automatically back fit / work out what % settings I should have set, to get as close to the race results as possible these will be kept in the database and every time a day's racing at that course is complete it would add to the others to come up with a mean setting eg for each course on different going and distances then automatically fill into a column next to the actual ratings for exact conditions and best conditions and then the same for jockey form comparison from the previous days results if a horse has run better or worse than rating
Final rating x impact value in %
Jockey teaming / pairing column which I can manually update
Final total columns to be multiplied by Jockey rating
The main calculations that would need to be done by the database are listed briefly below
The calculations that would need doing would be to convert each distance for each racecourse into mph using distance and time taken
Calculate how fast in miles per hour each horse ran in its last 6 races and compare to speed needed to win today's race
Work out from my final rating what price my horse should be and compare that against the betfair/ William hill s.p
Collect data for each horse from its last 6 runs in different categories eg ratings /speed/class/ from the various sites equalize the input into a total rating eg one website might rate the horses between 40 and 140 and another between 60 and 100and another between 1 and 100 so have to make the amount equal and unbiased from each website otherwise one rating would over power the other
Add to the columns a variable weighting so the latest runs can be more emphasised if required
Use bi nominal proposition / standard deviation if required on some columns
Use impact value on columns again if required
At the end of each day a formula to work out what the best settings would have been to get as close to the results of that days racing (which means that nearly all columns would be variable probably in % at the top of each column, then the settings would be saved and a database built over time and each time a race is run over same c/d going there would be a column where the past figures would be populated for each racE
Convert my ratings into expected prices
Compare actual price and price according to my ratings and highlight best or worse difference
Able to eliminate races, individual runners and form lines from individual horses form to go into total as in <[login to view URL]> using x next to pencil in form line
Speed needed column in comparison with number of runners
Same with distance plus set stronger with linked to likely speed
One button to press to move to next race
Multiply the raw rating x draw rating %
The usual way of calculating a price is to divide the individual score by the sum of all the scores.
Top rated with apprentice riding needs to be highlighted
on the going table help sheet want it to be able to auto generate the data from this sheet onto the columns in the races sheet for each meeting distance and going using the info in courses column Y on the enter values sheet for meeting name, distance, going
on the races sheet column Z I want to be able to click an horse to lay and then the Z box autofill amount to a liability of 70pts ( column AB ) which would use column J to find the odds and calculate stake needed
the data will be new data each day, and will need to be refreshed / updated fully at least once 90 minutes before 1st race time which changes each day and then for each individual race 30 minutes before race time, the betting from [login to view URL] will be need to be refreshed hourly with an option for any of these to refresh manually when needed.
Want a sort button where I can sort the data stats in different ways to get a different result, courses, going, a.w., distance. etc
And more as I remember them
