Joomla: Modify the ''Display feed'' module to better control upper and lower case in the heading(repost)

Joomla's buildt-in "Display feed" module displays news feeds on a given module position. **What I need** is a slight modification of the module - by adding a certain string operation - to have some more control over the output of upper and lower case letters in the headings of the individual news. **The string operation should do (at least) the following:** 1. If the heading is entirely in upper case: convert it to lower case 2. If the heading is in lower case, leave it as it is 3. In either cases, the first letter of the line (= first letter of the heading) must be upper case 4. If in a heading consting of lower case letters there are words beginning with an upper case letter, this letter should remain upper case (or, more simply put: do not change the case of upper case first letters in a word) 5. There must be a possibilty to manally enter words which will not be affected of the string operations. [Importand for certain abbreviations such as "UNECSO" and so on] - I am okay with a solution that requires me opening the php file and entering these words, but if you suggest a better solution allowing to enter lists of words in the joomla backend, I will give you a 100 % bonus! 6. All this must work with the Latin and the Cyrillic alphabet To understand my problem you may **have a look** at the website www.sredec.sofia.zelenite.bg. Look at the newsfeed in the lower left corner of the site. There you find a mess of news feed headlines, some of them entirely in upper case, some of them in lower case and even starting with lower case. (The editors of the news feed source are very unaware of typesetting aesthetic.) **You may deliver** your work just as some lines of php code with clear advice where do add them in the module's files in Joomla. **An additional requirement** is that this piece of coding should work also in other places (modules, plugin, etc.) if properly placed (with some basic knowledge of php), so that I can use it for upper-case-control at other places in my websites, too. Joomla version I am using is Joomla 1.5.15 and above (up to 1.5.23).
