Direct X control for Animations

Have a VB application we would like to add some animation functionality to. Have never done any animation work. Looking for someone that has worked with animations from a Visual Basic application. Would prefer that individual works as a consultant to the project (i.e. coach one of my employees to write the code). Not necessarily locked into that strategy. If someone can create an Active X control that will facilitate the presentation of the animations, I am open to having the control created. I would want to own the resulting source code. Sample VB program calling the control and displaying the animation in a satisfactory manner (i.e. executes in a timely manner, no unnecessary borders, etc.) 2.
