Senior AI Mobile Boating Assistant Application

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mobile Application Developer to lead the development of Naivigation, an innovative AI-powered boating assistant application designed to revolutionize the boating experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mobile app development, AI integration, and the ability to work independently on a project from conception to launch. I am located in the Eastern Time Zone of the United States and if you are located elsewhere, you must be able to work with us when needed from 1 PM to 12 AM (New York - ET). We are only seeking to work with one to three people maximum and agencies should not apply. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop a user-friendly mobile application for iOS and Android platforms. Implement AI and NLP (Natural Language Processing) features for online interaction with users with future development for offline interactions. Integrate selective caching for offline access to critical conversation threads. Work with RESTful APIs for server-side features and NMEA (National Marine Electronics Association) data integration. Develop and manage a comprehensive database to handle user profiles, chat histories, and app analytics. Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure the app is intuitive and engaging. Ensure the application is compliant with all relevant maritime safety and communication standards. Optimize performance for smooth functionality across various devices and operating systems. Establish a feedback loop with beta testers to iterate and refine app features. Required Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience in mobile application development with a portfolio of released applications on the Android and iOS markets. Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Swift, Kotlin, and/or Dart (Flutter). Experience with AI technologies, particularly NLP models suitable for mobile platforms, and familiarity with multimodal AI incorporating inputs and outputs such as text, voice, and image data. Familiarity with caching mechanisms and developing applications for offline use. Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle, including automated testing and building. Knowledge of NMEA (open standard in the marine electronics industry) protocols and experience integrating with onboard systems is a significant plus. Experience with implementing and managing user interfaces that support multiple forms of data input and output, enhancing user interaction with the app. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think algorithmically.
