I assume you want to use react hooks for state. I don't believe it supports lifecycle events though.

Hi Its a good move to convert your class components into functional components. With React Hooks you don't even have the need to use a class components. Migration is easy and i can do that for you in a day based on number of files though. Drop a message so that we can discuss more
