Deliverable: illustrations to four nursery rhymes. 32 page book 8 x 11". High resolution PDF required of complete book. THE PROJECT The Forgotten Rhymes is a children's book based on old English Nursery Rhymes which have been passed down from generation to generation within my family. I can trace these stories back to my great-great-grandmother, Edith Jane Butt, who was born in 1869 on the Isle of Wight in the UK, but it is likely that they go back even further. These Nursery Rhymes are unusually rare and there is very little mention of them in existing published works. THE STORIES NAUGHTY JACK - Naughty Jack tells the story of a boy who doesn't heed his mother's advice to which Jack suffers the consequences. Below is some conceptual art a illustrator I know drew up. THE SPINNING MICE - The Spinning Mice tells the tale of three mice who fall foul of flattery by the charms of a naughty pussy cat. These two rhymes make up the majority of the book (10 pages each). There are also two double-page short nursery rhymes called "The flower that forgot her name" and "If I were an apple". Hello, I'm professional illustrator, i'm working in traditional styles with water colors, oil, ink and pencils. My favorite subjects are animals, plants, landscapes and fairy tales. Here on site have only few pictures in profile (due to restrictions), but ready to provide more if you'll be interested... Usually one full-color picture format A4/A3 takes 3 days - 1 day for the sketch and customer confirmation and 1.5-2 for "clean" and colored... A ten page book with illustrations, text and full pdf, also including revisions may take to 15 days max. A week for sketching and revising another 2 weeks for colors and text...whole pdf. 3) Your full and final price For a ten page book with text...whole pdf.. I would like to price 600gbp or 1000usd. hello! I am new to freelancer.com, but definitely not to the industry! please have a look at my portfolio, and if there's a style you like that fits what you have in mind, award me the bid. I would like to know if the illustrator would be credited on the cover of the book, and do you have a royalties proposal in mind, in the case of the book getting published? My usual hourly rate is $13 USD per hour, but I am willing to negotiate depending on budget, deadline, amount of illustrations and style. The delivery date will also be influenced by the aforementioned criteria. Could you please be a bit more specific as to what you need exactly please. You mentioned that it's a 32 page book, does this mean that you need 32 illustrations? do you need a cover design? is the layout for the book already done, or do you need the design for that done as well? thank you Nicole Hein

Hi. My name is Jess and I am new to freelancer... thus, minimal information on profile and past history. I am very interested in your project as I have been considering putting together a children's book of my own - the main purpose would be to showcase my drawing abilities so when I stumbled across this posting I thought "perfect fit." I believe I could have the project done in 45 days. High quality PDF pages eh? Also, it may be a tad overly ambitious but I drew up a quick sketch outlining what I would think is appropriate for illustrating a nursery rhyme book (I have no idea what "The Spinning Mice" content of the story would be, obviously, but... I made it up based on your brief overview.) I will upload it to my profile portfolio following the sending of this proposal for your review. I am not sure about the copyright terms but will do some research and get back to you on this if you wish to discuss further. Also, I noticed that the in progress sketch (Jack) that you had uploaded seemed to be a free hand sketch as opposed to a digital illustration so this is the route I also took... what is the preferred? As noted, my bid is 2,500 pounds... I tend to spend a tad more time than most on the details. If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to contact me.
