I have a Wordpress site hosted on a virtual private server on digital ocean. I keep getting database errors that break the site (white page with Database Error message). I have an old snapshot that works fine, so I just revert back to that until it breaks again. I'm not sure if it is related to an update (nothing obviously breaks it, it just happens after a few weeks). The storage also seems like it fills up faster than it should (DO says site is 10gb, which seems ridiculously big). I'm sure the version of Ubuntu also needs updated. So I need someone to review the site and server settings, update anything that is needed, and fix any problems found.

Rebooting the machine can usually fix this error. If it keeps recurring, this typically happens when Traffic overloads the server's resources. Upgrading your droplet to more RAM and CPU usually fixes this. Also, disabling XMLRPC requests if you are under attack will stop the attack from overloading your droplet.
