Android & iOS Developer - React Native

We are looking for a single developer to build both an iOS and Android application for mobile and tablet devices that is a reflection of an existing web application. In order to reuse as much code as possible across all three platforms (iOS, Android and web), we intend to use React Native as our framework of choice. Use of React Native also ensures internal developers can maintain the project as all internal team members are familiar with JavaScript. Finally, React Native allows us to push updates to the application without a full deploy and upgrade process, using the JavaScript bridge. The native applications will make use of a web API to push and pull data from the web application database. The team developing the web application will be focused on the web platform alongside the native application development and as such a native specialist is required to bridge the gap between the platforms, providing expertise on app store approval processes and best practices for development, testing and deployment. Based on the tools, languages and platforms this project is using, familiarity with native platforms is essential, as is familiarity with JavaScript and ideally web application development. - Do you have any applications in production both on the iOS and Android platforms? If so, what was your involvement in these projects? Could you provide links to any live applications? - Are you familiar with the latest app store guidelines and approval processes? Any examples of issues you have come across and how they were solved would be beneficial. - Are you familiar with web integration within native applications using an API? If so, could you provide examples of your experience. - Are you familiar with React Native and would you be comfortable developing a cross-platform application using this framework? - Do you have familiarity with streaming audio and video into native applications and best practices for this integration? - Familiarity with the JavaScript only upgrade path would be beneficial. - As the web application will power the native applications, we would like to ensure peer code reviews are in place with regular stable builds deployed for testing. Git will be used for version control. Are you familiar with GitFlow and team version control practices including code reviews, pull requests, etc? - Although payment integration and offline functionality are to come at a later stage, experience with these features across both platforms would be beneficial. We will need the Freelancer to work from our Studio in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, UK.
