Dating site promotion lite

I need to drive more traffic to my dating site. As of now i have roughly 1000 members. I have recently made some improvements to it and i want more people to sign up. ALL services are offered free of charge on the site. I do not want any special SEO, just promotion. It is the first phase of a marketing campaign, i will be doing more in the future with bigger budgets. It is important that i know all along what tools you use for the promotion because i do not want to end up blacklisted on search engines.
