Hi, I want to do a device that measure the flight time of a vertical jump. I've all the code done. I've used several sensors, , but none of them give me a frequency (at least 250 sample per second). I'm thinking that a good option is to put an infrared emitter pointed at the tips of the feet, or something like a contact surface, that detect when the feet are supported on the floor or not. Please, if you have any suggestions, let me know. I repeat it, I have the code part done, I just need help with the hardware and adapt the code to the new hardware.

Hello! I can assist you in making of flight time of a vertical jump. But first I would like to know more about it. I suggest you to use a switch on feet. I will discuss it in chat with you. This solution will be much economic for you. Arduino will detect the switch push condition on initial. When the person will take jump, the arduino will start to calculate till the switch is again pressed. This will be much faster and reliable system. To make it for high frequency please use INDUCTIVE PROXIMITY SENSOR - MAGNETIC SWITCH. It is much faster and will give you very high rate of sampling. Bid quote depends on project work, we will share.

Hello sir, I have built this project before. At the beginning of the jump, the pressure under your feet is approximately zero and this changes when you land. I can provide schematic diagram and code for a working solution, then you can compare it with the code you already have. I look forward to working with you.

Hello, I cannot understand why a usual accelerometer (such as MPU6050) is not suited for your application. In fact it is an overkill. I guess you have problems with your free fall detection algorithm. Where is this sensor placed (on the hips...). I could assist you to debug your code. Otherwise you could use a contact matress. Please give more details...
