Software Developer for Program to Estimate Pedestal Supports and Pavers Needed for Elevated Decks

We require a software developer who can update some software developed by another programmer (who has since become unresponsive and uncontactable) or re-create the current software from scratch. We have all the files for the current software installed on our server. It is fully operational but needs some improvements to make it more user-friendly and more useful. The purpose of this software is to estimate the number of pedestal supports required on an elevated deck which uses pavers as the deck surface where the pavers are mostly supported at each corner only. With these pedestals, you can screw them up or down a certain amount so each of these has a specific height range - for example 1 1/4″ – 2 1/2″, 2 1/2″ – 6″, 6″ – 16 1/2″ etc. You can see an example of thee pedestals on our web page [login to view URL] So a user draws the plan of the area which is to be covered onto a grid on the web page, or uploads a drawing of the area and then draws an outline around this area setting the correct dimensions for the program to use. Providing all the correct information has been input correctly into the program including the dimensions of the area that the pedestals/pavers cover, the height required for the deck, the depth of low points, the height at all points around the perimeter where there is a change in direction or height, the paver size and thickness, then the finished result is a diagram which shows how the pavers will be laid over the area, and how many of each size pedestal is needed for the specific project. The software has to cope with different paver sizes, thicknesses and variable space between each paver. Also it has to cope with different models of pedestals which have different height ranges. So the program is essentially making estimates in 3D, because it must also be able to cope with the normal situation where the ground on which the pedestals are laid is sloping in one or more directions or it may have a drain hole in one or more places which will be a low point, so therefore the pedestals in those positions are obviously higher. An example of a finished output diagram that the software program produces is attached. All projects are stored in a database for retrieval and further amendment later if needed. Our clients are able to login with a username and password and create their own projects and print the output as a PDF. The program also has an admin panel which shows all people who have used the program and their email address. The admin panel also allows us to set up the height parameters of the pedestals and the dimensions of the paver. Please note for freelancers bidding on this project, because unfortunately our experience is that far too many people do not even read the specification of projects before making a bid, you MUST write the full word ‘PRIME’ somewhere in the first two lines of your proposal which will then tell us that you have probably at least looked at the brief project specifications. If you fail to do that, your bid will not be read but will be immediately rejected. It is obviously too difficult to give the full extent of the program features in this project spec. but shortlisted freelancers will be given access to the current program to understand better what work is involved before taking on this project.
