C++ application-check for running apps

I need an application written in C++ which will check to see if any applications besides Windows are running and pop up an error dialog tothe user if there are. Bonus points for returning the application name like "I'm sorry, Microsoft Word is running and installation cannot continue until you close it". The dialog box has an OK and Cancel button. If the user clicks OK, the application retries to see if all applications are closed, if not, it returns with the dialog box. if the user clicks Cancel, the application exits with an error that the calling application uses. This application must function correctly on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. My problem is I use INNO for installations and I have a complex installation routine that works very well. Unfortunately, Microsoft changed a function in Windows 7 which broke the ability to test for open applications so I need something more tightly integrated wtih Windows. The application you are creating will be called as an application during installation and will be invisible unless the above mentioned dialog box is required. If it finds no applications open, it simply exits without error. If the user gets a dialog box, closes all the applications and clicks OK, then this application exits with no errors. A simpler explanation may be an application that reads the Applications tab of the Windows Task Manager and if it finds any application that doesn't begin with the word Setup running, alerts the user with the dialog box indicated above. I will not accept any development environment but Visual C++ for this application. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Windows XP, Vista and Win7 32 and 64 bit. The application must be written in C++.
