A Look at Agriculture --- About half of the country's workforce is employed in agriculture. However, its contribution to GDP is 17.5% (at current prices for 2015-16).  During the last few decades, the contribution of manufacturing and service sectors to the growth of the economy has increased rapidly, while the contribution of agriculture sector has declined. While agriculture accounted for 50% of GDP in the 1950s, it fell to 15.4% in 2015-16 (at constant prices). ( Source ) During this time I have researched the decreasing productivity of agriculture in my region, which is as follows. 1 - People are becoming disillusioned with farming due to lack of proper price for agricultural produce. 2- On one hand, where the government brings schemes for the farmers, but it is not able to implement them properly, due to which the low income farmers do not get the benefit. 3- Secondly, the disenchantment of today's young generation is increasing, due to which the old method of farming is being used in some areas even today. 4 - With the increasing population, the size of agricultural holdings is constantly getting smaller. Which has a direct impact on agricultural productivity 5- Even if the farm loan waiver is assessed, only the big farmers have benefited from it. Due to disappointment among the small farmers, they have been limited to livelihood and agriculture only. 6- Monsoon inequality is the main problem of our country, for which the government is not able to take any proper procedure for disposal, there is disappointment among the farmers. As far as the question is whether productivity can be increased? Yes, productivity can be increased, if we take better steps in this direction, it is possible. 1- Loans should be made available to the farmers at a reasonable interest rate, so that they are able to increase their productivity. 2- As far as the schemes run by the government are concerned, the implementation of the schemes in this way can benefit all the farmers. 3- Often, loan waiver is seen, then most of the big farmers have been benefited. For this, the loan waiver should not be implemented. Instead, such a scheme should be implemented so that people can be able to repay the loan. I would like to tell you an example of my field. Our person here, who works in Mumbai. He took a loan in the name of agriculture and bought a flat in Mumbai. When the debt waiver was announced in Uttar Pradesh. His debt was forgiven inside it. There are many reasons that affect our agricultural productivity. ( In the following article we will let you know about the current conditions of agriculture. )
