Here is an issue that ChatGPT has not been able to solve with success... I have a MySQL table on a LAMP server and I need to store French text in the records (field type text or longtext or varchar). But when I export the data, those accents come out as strange characters. I tried changing the table's format to UTF8, but strangely it was already a version of UTF8 by default and still I get those strange characters. So to try and solve it, I manually convert all accented characters to html codes (for example: é for é), when I save them. Then I decode them when I get the records out for display.
