Titles are quite anomalous, especially in the WordPress community - I've bid projects as a experienced "web developer" with over 8years of experience. The guy or gal with much less experience that just adapts themes may have the same title, and the client may not know the difference. A title isn't going to help them (clients call me designer, developer, techie, web guy, etc). They generally don't know the line between designer/developer. Grades of developers is hopeless (it's all "magic" to non technical clients).
