Hello, My real name is Joana, but I go by Miss DeeDee, I’m 22 and from Portugal. I’ve always wanted to be a graphic design, so I studied it in high school and finally was one of the few accepted into ÉCAL in Lausanne, Switzerland where 4 years later I completed my bachelor in Graphic Design. I co-run ColorElephant - a digital studio and I’m a freelance with a passion for print, editorial design and branding. SURE Magazine

This is a personal set of principles and methodology for design. This is a belief and representation system: a system of the belief in each other and the representation system as its result. This is the working method of Lilian (Reflection, x) and Joana (Action,y). This is the creation of our common visual language.

Reflection & Action

This is an infographic poster based on the movie Armageddon (1998), by Michael Bay. You can see the tension of each scene across the pattern, starting outside-in. You can understand the film and patterns reading the subtitles. The thickness of each line
is given by each scene’s duration (1-3min, 4-5min, +6min). It was printed on a silver paper.

SWITCH Conference

Dec 2010 - Jul 2012 (1 year, 7 months)

I was the lead Graphic Designer and the creative director and executor at portuguese-based SWITCH Conference. SWITCH were a 2-day event that annually gathers in Portugal top notch speakers from all over the world, representing companies such as Microsoft, Facebook, Google, World Economic Forum or The Next Web. More than 5.000 people watched SWITCH livestream on 2012.
