I need you to write a VB program that will insert data from an Excel spreadsheet into a Word document. Please note several very specific requirements that you must be able to meet in order to do this project: 1) the Excel sheet will hold both the token names and the values for each token, which will make it extensible. If there is a mis-match on token names between the table in Excel and the targeted Word document the system needs to throw up an error message and 2) the name of the Word template that is to have data inserted into it will itself be a value in the Excel sheet., 3) the path to the word templates needs to be a variable within the Excel doc, 4) you need to write 2 version of VB, one for PC and one for Mac
Here is a use case you can use for your bid:
1) I, the user, create three word templates, each with its own unique name. in the places where I want variable data from Excel to be inserted I place tokens from a set vocabulary
2) I save these word templates to a folder on my hard drive
3) I then create an Excel file that runs the calculations I need to customize the Word document. In this document there is a lookup table in which I can a) edit the name of a token, b) add a new token .
4) In this Excel file there is also a field where I can enter the path to the folder that holds the Word templates and a field where you will retrieve the name of the template to be opened and customized and a path to the folder where finished Word documents will be saved
5) You will write a macro that opens up a blank version of the template selected in step 4, inserts the data for all the tokens list in the Excel sheet, and then save the new Word document to the path defined in step 4. The name of the file will be a concatenation of the client name, which will be a field in the Excel file, plus the current date and time. This will help with version control in cases where we render multiple versions of the document
6) If there is a token name mismatch in step 5 I will need to see a VB error message
I am very interested in your project. I have 5+ years exp. in MS Office, Designing, Quick-books, Office Management, PDF, Google spreadsheet, Vba and typing. I will give you my best possible work. I would like to thank you in advance.
