I have this IIS application (ASP/NET) that calls a VB program to open an Excel application for our reporting need. It is working on a server running on Win 2003. We have migrated the IIS application to another server Win 2012. Everything works fine except for module that calls a VB6 program that opens MS Excel populates the sheet from sql server data and opens a copy of excel on the client for the user to view the excel report. Not sure why it is not working - maybe related to 32bit to 64bit systems. I don't need to revamp the whole module since the IIS application will retire in a year or so. I just need the module working for users to generate the excel reports on their desktop.

Did you check the connection strings. We also need to consider all the prerequisites of you site.
