I have done video editing since high school and in college classes I have worked with OpenGL generating imagery. If what you are proposing involves real-time generation of imagery of significant complexity, I also have experience with CUDA and OpenCL. What I don't have experience with is taking those images and making them into a video file but I could quickly learn and find a library to do that.
