Concept Album Video Editing Project

We’ve written a Christmas concept album. And each member of the band is in the process of sending in video recordings of themselves playing the songs from home—given COVID. There are 22 songs on the record, and the band consists of: two guitarists, bass, drums, keys, and violin, and a couple of vocalists. Some songs are just piano and voice or guitar and voice, while others are instrumentals with all the players. And then many songs have the whole group with one vocal—there is also one duet. We need the videos from the various players edited together to create videos for each song. We will have you put the actual album audio to the videos, which we will supply. So, you won’t need to do any sound engineering, per se. In addition, we have narration to tell the story between songs; these video/narrative pieces are having being created separately. But we will need the videos created by you put together with the narration to create one long video for the whole record. So, you’ll wind up with 23 videos you’ll need to deliver. In a few cases—mostly the vocalists—there are a few takes as the performer made a mistake, so you’ll have to use appropriate takes, and edit as needed. And of course, the playing will need to line up to the album audio; so, we’ll need someone who can listen to the music and be sure the performances are lining up. We’re looking for someone who can review the materials for each song and make strong choices of who and what to show and at what points in the songs, e.g. guitar solos, player emotion and passion, etc. So, there’ll need to be some artistry on your part, not just cutting and splicing. And in places we want the video to show multiple musicians at once, and in various configurations, as many of the video editing softwares make possible. We’d also like some creativity in some movement of the video where it can highlight a section or part or musician. We’re also open to other creative inputs to make these engaging for viewers. We’d like to have the video editing done by Nov 18th. We have enough songs to get rolling now, with the rest of the individual editing coming in over the next week. We’ll be posting to the usual places, Youtube, Facebook, etc. And we’ll need the option for revision as we go. We will provide fast and clear feedback as needed. Up front, we’ll need to work with you to identify a template for things like song title. And we do have an animated bit with the band logo we could leverage for the close of each song.
