I am an Industrial designer, and often I need bridges between my programs as you can see in my bio to work on a file in different programs as in your case. I prefer SolidWorks to SketchUp when it comes from *.IGES to *.SKP. This is an easy task and will do it in a couple of hours depends on the count of the files... about 25 converted files an hours is the speed i can do this.
