Resources required: CFD program, existing experimental data Introduction Point1:- One of the simplest type of heat exchangers is the tubular pipe. There are two types of flow for this setup, co-current and counter-current. Co-current is when both fluids flow in the same direction and counter – current is when the fluids flow in opposite directions. Aim Point 2:-The aim of this particular project is to investigate the thermal performance of tubular heat exchangers using numerical simulation and measured data from previous experiments. CFD analysis will be used to try to find the best configuration of such systems. Objective • Build a mathematical model using Ansys for the simulation. • Point 3:- Compare the parallel flow and counter flow configurations for the same set-up. • Point 4:- Analyse the performance with the change of entry fluid temperatures and other parameters including (flow rates, fluid thermal properties, dimensions, ambient temperature, etc.). Methodology Point 5:-Review of existing types of heat exchangers and particularly tubular ones. Research on previous experiments and collection of available experimental data. Create a numerical model on Ansys. Carry out CFD simulations. Point 6:-Use simulation results for the conclusion and recommendations on the use of such devices.

Hi, For last 2 years I have worked as Project Associate in National Wind Tunnel Facility, IIT Kanpur(India) and was responsible for aerospace models design for Wind Tunnel Testing, I have hands on experience in mechanical design using CAD/FEA tools as CATIA, ANSYS, MATLAB etc. Several projects utilized verification of design using FEA. I have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Indian Institute of Information Technology Design & Manufacturing, Jabalpur . As part of my undergraduate curriculum I worked on several projects like “Structural optimization of Diesel Engine Piston” which utilized basic design calculations and FEA using ANSYS. Currently I am working in helicopter swash plate design which also includes FEA as a part of the project. To have a glance on credentials, please go through my attached portfolio. If you find my credentials matching with your requirement, let's discuss about all the aspects of this project. Thanks & Regards, -Om Prakash Yadav
