Looking for recommendation of a backup client for backign up my data on Windows 10 to my Synology NAS. I have tried a number of them and nothing seemed to meet my needs. Acronis True Image is good but it saves files in the *.tib extension, whereas I need my file saved in their native file extension for easy retrieval.
StorageCraft ShadowProtect is really good but only saves at the drive level and not folder or file levels. So I am seeking another backup software. Windows have a backup feature, its not good, and does not give me the features like third party software.
This post you I am seeking a backup software recommendation. If your recommendation proves to be the backup solution I need. I will pay you the fixed price. No need for an interview, so when you apply just recommend a software solution.
I have tried the following backup software and they all FAILED to meet my needs
NovaBackup PC
Paragon Backup & Recovery 16
Genie Timeline Home Pro
Genie Timeline Manager Pro
Resilio Sync
Macrium Reflect Free 6
Aomei Backupper Standard 4
EaseUS ToDo Backup Home 10.5
Synology cloud sync
Comodo Backup
There are a few others I have tried cant remember their names
Some of the features i am seeking
-multiple jobs
- folder and file level
- versioning
-save file in its native extension
This is the easiest job you will ever bid for
The easiest project I ever bid on is a pretty attractive way for someone to just come in and argue, but I'm not here to do that; I feel that the best thing for what you're looking at is something like rsync; it's simple, but tossing together a python script for this would make it incredibly easy.
And of course you can run multiple instances of it; the cost of flexibility is a little more implementation work.
Hi,
Absolutely feel for you with this issue. Many people fail to do their home work which causes tremendous issues on DR day.
I recently had a similar issue where most applications failed to meet a set criteria as prescribed by a client.
I'm an IT professional with 15 years worth in experience! Happy to share my views. You can also hit me up in PM (if I'm online) to get my answer. Fairly confident the backup solution I have in mind will cater for most if not all backup requirements. Also comes in an array of versions to cater for anything from on-prem systems to cloud based solutions.
