I have this code (part 4) which is not working properly.

It is supposed to control a stepper but in my setup the only response I am getting is the stepper moving 1 step forward, 1 step backwards as if it is jammed. Everything else inlcuding the buttons, buzzer, rgb and encoder ALL work except for the movement of the stepper.
I have tested components (in the same breaboard configuration with the Part 3 code on this website before and the stepper works controll with the encoder works perfectly ( which is practically the same but without the A and B ponts)
