I am working on an educational app which will be used in universities. The idea is to get my app to work with what the university already has. In this case, their Moodle Database. The end result of this integration must be that my Rails app allows the users to login with their Moodle account and the app can fetch information such as a lecturer's courses, classes and students from the university's Moodle database. Your job will be to provide a spike solution for this (a dummy Rails app integrated with a dummy Moodle) I am not a PHP expert but I have some experience with Ruby on Rails. So if you know Moodle's APIs well and are willing to get your hands on a Rails app too, then we are good to go.
