Site feature documents

We have a professional version of Magento being installed and setup as we speak for an Amazon type of competitor site. There will be 8 major categories in the top navigation.

This site will be made using multiple product feeds. Some of the feeds will have the same products, we need to have the system automatically choose which feed makes the site makes the most money on the sale.

**Overall Requirements:**

* Need to be able to except multiple product feeds

* He feeds should be compared to each other so no duplicate product are listed. If different distributors sell the same product the system should only list the one with the best price.

* When a product is purchased the system will need to know which distributor it came from so we can send an automate purchase order for shipping.

* However, if I customer is buying multiple products it would probably be best if all the products are shipped from the same distributor to eliminate additional shipping costs. In that case it may be cheaper to pay more for the product. The system should be able to make this determination.

**Template:**

* All general information

* Login

* Basic search

* Member details (loyalty program points, etc.)

* Top Navigation

* This will need to be limited to less than 8 major categories. When data feeds are received we will be able to identify these.

* No more than one fly out menu with editable text links to all subcategories. (similar to [url removed, login to view])

* Internal Blog and article listings specific to whatever current page user is on.

**Home Page:**

* Deal of the Day

* Product image, name, msrp, and price, should be viewable in space with a strong call to action

* Deal can be a single product of a combination of multiple products.

* Products you may be interested in.

* Below Deal of the Day.

* Products should be generated from user cookies. If customer has been searching Google, Google Shopping, or any other CSE, we should be able to see that and present them with exact product matches and/or similar product types that they would have a strong propensity to purchase.

* Google Trends products.

* We should write a script that queries and matches our products to popular trends on Google.

* Bestsellers on homepage updated hourly section

* What products customers are looking at right now section

**Product Category Page or Product Home pages:**

* Static pages (URL)

* Each Category page should be build as master pages for each category

* Advanced search functionality specific to the category of products (for example: TV’s would have screen size, and room size as criteria and no bandwidth)

* Advanced search engines are designed to match products with customer’s exact requirements.

* Top Sellers and Top Rated can be feature at top. Perhaps the products will just start off sorted by one of these criteria and the customer can just began reviewing the product thumbnails.

* Product filter on left side will help the customer narrow down the product thumbnails.

* Products entities can be dragged and dropped into either cart or comparison engine products

* Video demo of product

**Smart Shopping:**

* If a user has been searching aggressively on and off site for specific products, we should hit them with an offer on that product and capture the sale.

**Product Detail Page:**

* [url removed, login to view] (see best product page layout for what we want)

**Member/Loyalty Program:**

* User will earn points for any interaction he/she has with the brand

* Joining Facebook or twitter

* Signing up for Newsletter or RSS

* Sharing purchases on Facebook or Twitter
