I have a folder of jpeg or tiff image files (maybe about 1000). Lets call the folder C:\data\project1
I need a simple script/program that separate the files into subfolders with each folder containing a specific number of files. eg. image 1000 files [login to view URL], 0002.jpg....1000.jpg. If I want the files divided into subfolders containing 20 files each then 50 folders would be created. Folder 1 would contain files [login to view URL] to [login to view URL], folder2 would contain [login to view URL] to 0040.jpg. etc etc. If i wanted 40 images per folder then there would be 25 subfolders created with folder 1 containing [login to view URL] to [login to view URL] etc etc.
the number of files per folder eg in the examples about 20 or 40, would be set in an ini file or similar (n=20) that I can change easily.
I would like a shortcut to run the script/program eg ctrl+f or similar.
So in summary, the script/program
1) reads the ini file to see how many files should be in each subfolder (n)
2) counts the number of files in the active folder (t)
3) divides that the number of files by how many should be in each subfolder (t/n)
3a) give error if t/n does not equal a whole number.
4) create that many subfolders named project1_folder1, project1_folder2, project1_folder3, etc (eg subfolder is named using active folder name, in this case "project1", plus underscore plus "folder1")
5) cut the first n files from the active folder into folder1
6) cut the second n files from the active folder into folder2 etc
the script will work on any folder that is "active" or in focus when the script is run.
I have some additional work to do for this script but lets start with this simple task.

We suggest to store all files in database. So you can categorize them as you wish and it is accessible from anywhere.
I have understood your requirement. You can have an Option to key-in the Number of Folder you want to be created and then the Program can do the work.
