Hi! I need my website fixed. Here's what we are dealing with: Error establishing a database connection Service Unavailable The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later. 503 The problem is not an incorrect username or password. The problem is that we are under a cyber attack. There has been sudden surge in website traffic because someone is using a bot to access our website 45 times per second blocking real visitors from accessing our website. Currently we use a shared hosting service. After we alerted the hosting company, the hosting company added a block of the IP address on the .htaccess file. The bot or person changed the IP address and resumed the attack. The next time, the hosting company widened the range of blocked IP addresses but the problem continued a few hours later. The hosting can not block the IP addresses of the bot because it is using random IP addresses. Every time the hosting company adds an additional block, the problem is solved for a short time, then the bot uses another IP address and the attack resumes. By refreshing the browser, eventually you can get the webpage to display. It is hit and miss which means you may be able to gain access through the dashboard on WordPress by refreshing the browser several times. You can gain access through FTP. If it is required for the hosting company to put a block on the the next IP address, you probably will have about an hour to work on the website until the attack resumes. After an hour, based on my past experience after several times, is uncertain. After solving the cyber attack, we want the Freelancer to look at which plugins can be removed and speed up the functionality of the website by installing WP super cache. We also noticed items are not adding into the shopping cart. We have identified the person is behind it and we are in discussions with the proper authorities on what action can taken against the person. Payment to the Freelancer would be promptly made after we are convinced the problem has been solved. Contact us for the website address if required.
