Upgrade my existing python script, add new features and improve the code

This project will suit a small team or a committed, hard working coder. ================ Project Description: ================ I would like to hire you to upgrade an existing, working Python script. There are 3 major upgrades required: 1. You will need to replace existing code, with new code that fetches data from a different source. 2. You will need to upgrade my existing web "dashboard" so it displays information in a more useful and attractive manner. 3. You will need to help me display this information, on an external website so other people can see the details as well. =============== Additional Details: =============== Over the last few months, I hired several programmers to create different parts of a project. I now have a useful, working Python script - but I would like your help to upgrade it. The python script currently runs locally on Windows, and it is located on a 24/7 VPS. The python script is hosted locally on the Windows system, and it "listens" to a locally installed browser extension. The custom browser extension intercepts activity on a website, and sends information via a JSON feed. The local python script has a listening script, and it receives the information from the browser extension. The python script then performs extra processing, by sending an API to request to an external source. The python script then combines the information that was received via the JSON feed from the browser extension, and combines it with the information collected via the API call. This combined information is then stored inside a local database which can be accessed via a localhost browser URL. ================== Project Goals & Steps ================== [Step 1] Requires you to investigate my existing script. I can answer any of your questions, and explain how the entire system works. It is not a complicated project, but there are several parts that work together. I can provide the login details to the VPS, and you can investigate the script, the browser extension and the idea. We can discuss anything in real time, via Discord, Skype, Google Chat or another communication system. [Step 2] We will discuss the replacement of existing code, with a new piece of code I had written. The python script will work in the same way ... but will simply fetch information from a different source. I would like your opinion, on keeping the existing code, and simply upgrading it to include these new features. [Step 3] The next major upgrade, involves creating a more effective dashboard to display information. Currently, I have a web based browser page, that runs on a localhost URL on the server itself. I would prefer, to have the information displayed elsewhere, on a totally different server. The dashboard needs to be fast, attractive, useful and should allow viewers to sort data easily. =============== Extra Thoughts: =============== In my opinion, this is a $250-$500 project. However, it is very important to me ... and my budget will extend to $1,500 if you provide a really good solution. I am happy to pay extra, for higher quality work. =========== The Future: =========== I have a large budget to upgrade this script. I would appreciate on-going support and help to add new features.
