Rename files with data from database

I have a mysql database with a user table in this table you have a field: avatar with for example this data: [login to view URL] I need a php or sh script that does the following: - Connect to database get user_id and avatar data - get the user_id from the field: id - get the avatar data from field: avatar - Check if file is in directory: memberpictures/avatar if so - Copy file to directory/avatar/new/ - rename file to: avatar_big_[user_id]_[originalfilename] for example: [login to view URL] - Check if file is in directory: memberpictures/avatar/thumbs/ if so - Copy file to directory/avatar/new/ - rename file to: avatar_[user_id]_[originalfilename] for example: [login to view URL] And that for all 1000 records in the database.
