PHP: calculate data from a GPX file and remove unnecessary content

I have a webpage where I can upload a GPX file.
I need a PHP script that:
1) calculates the positive/upwards difference in elevation between all points - summarizing each elevation gain between two trackpoimts.
2) calculates the negative/downwards difference in elevation between all points - summarizing each elevation drop between two trackpoimts.
3) removes anything from the GPX file which is not a trackpoint (header, footer)
4) saves it with a name I can choose to my server as txt
5) saves a second version of the txt file with all trackpoints in reverse order
I have the page with the upload form and a webserver to save the txt to - the php inbetween is needed.
See two examples attached. The data inside which should be retrieved is:
a) elevation up: 1045
b) elevation down: 393
