Full Stack Developer / Senior Developer

The Full Stack Developer / Senior Developer will work on a variety of projects to support our technical systems such as: e-commerce platforms, supply chain management, intelligent design tools, payment gateways, and marketing systems. Specific tasks will include building out new features, creating automation tools, big data analysis, linking with finance APIs, improving our AWS infrastructure, and other tasks requiring front-end, back-end, big data, and machine learning experience. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated history, and passion for, solving complex technical challenges with a particular focus on efficiency and performance. Our development team is an energetic and forward-thinking team which uses rapid agile development in a cloud-based environment. Candidates should have experience founding or working in an early stage startup company. Responsibilities include: -Developing new, and contributing to existing, platforms that have a critical role in promoting or improving our digital interfaces such as websites, APPs, APIs, and analytics systems. -Leading and participating in major architectural decisions, helping to review code and implementations, and bring in new and emerging technologies into the organization. -Promoting an agile - prototype first - culture that prizes continuous learning and growth, while maintaining a high regard for quality. -Owning the end to end technical requirements and road map for major engineering products. -Working in tandem with business partners, interns, and marketing consultants to build effective e-commerce, design, and community platforms and communities. -Self managing. Candidates must be capable of making their own plans, setting their own deadlines, and working without excessive supervision. Experience in previous self-managing positions is a great plus. Requirements include: -5+ years of relevant technical professional experience required (including 2+ years in a software development role) - familiar with both front end and back end technologies. -Recently completed development projects using PHP, Wordpress, Node.js, Python or Ruby, MongoDB, PHPMyAdmin, Ubuntu, and AWS cloud services. -Familiarity with a Agile/Scrum working strategy. e.g. Lean Startup -Substantial experience in E-commerce/website optimization, SEO, data tracking, and analytics. Must be familiar with conversion metrics, UI/UX, client behavior, etc. -Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate methodologies and their applications to non-technical individuals -Openness to working with new frameworks\languages, a passion to learn emerging technologies & paradigms, and ability to handle occasional ambiguity. -Excellent judgment, both in technical and organizational problem solving.
