Create an API from our WMS to our Shopify Preorder App To Display Delivery Date

We use a pre-order app in Shopify which changes the buy button to a preorder button.
It currently offers no date for the customer, but there is a custom field per product which can display text under the preorder button.
In our WMS software, each product SKU carries a date for the next delivery of the item.
We are looking for a way to automatically link this information to Shopify so that the date of delivery is displayed for the customer.
This could also be done without using the preorder app, by changing the buy button to a preorder button when stock reached zero, and customising a script to pull API delivery date from WMS...if you prefer this.
