OS Com. Modifications...Read it all!!!

I have an OSC site that has been modified for price comparison and is in the later stages of development. See [login to view URL] I am looking for the following items… Problem…..Front page loads slower then I would like it to. A lot of the code can be pulled, as we use none of the shopping cart functionality. We use probably only about 25% of the actual OSCommerce Code. Solution…Clean it up, and take out the stuff the does not need to be there so it loads faster. We have web crawling software that goes to various online pharmacies, and pulls, links, descriptions, etc from various websites. It outputs the files in various formats including .cvs and can also load the information directly into the database. We need a data loader built. This needs to be a much more robust data loader then the present contributions on OSC, though those would be a good starting point. As new products come in new categories need to be created, and the new products and descriptions. Since we are dealing with direct data off of websites, there are other challenges as well. Some people put “TABS” and some people put “tablets” some put “CAPS” and some put “capsules”. Be aware that each .cvs file will have thousands of records. I do not care what kind of an interface the data loader has. It can be command line for all I care. I know with that many records PHP has some issues. There can be up to 26 files per pharmacy. Being able to load multiple files at once would be desirable. Even the ability to que the files would be nice. If The categories do not exists, then create them. If it does exists, then remove the previous product description for this vendor, and add a new one, if different then the exsisting one. To page: [login to view URL] Add Shipping Column and Delivery Information Column. These are not presently database fields. These are on a customer by customer basis. Remove Product Description field. The Description at the top of the page will suffice. Add a column for comments on a record, by record basis. Presently the site clicks through to our partner websites with no tracking. I want tracking of all partner clicked links (the “buy it at” button) Presently OSC Offers a ratings system on a product by product basis. I want that changed to Pharmacy Feedback with Star ratings and the ratings listed on the site. Presently there is no Grid on the search results pages. We want this cleaned up and have it look “pretty”. No other formatting is to be changed. Sample page…[login to view URL] Remove browse by category in top section.
