Hello, I need a function block created to be used in codesys which grabs the codesys variables and sends them along with the process data to an online database where the data can be used at a later date. We will need to be able to control the frequency of data transmission and be able to send data on a specific event (eg alarm event) I will also need a online database created for the data to be sent to which the plc will need to authenticate itself using an API or blockchain type method and then send its data to be logged into a database. We could have many PLC's sending in data so each entry will need to be uniquely identified and linked to the PLC. There is a very similar function block created by AnyViz which does something very similar but is not suited exactly to our use case. All i need at the moment is the Function block to send data and the cloud server to receive the data securely and log it to a mysql database. I will have a Linux server hosted by Digital Ocean to use for this project. Any other questions please do reach out and ask.

Hello. You need to clearly understand, you need several types of programmers. As example - I am PLC engineer, I can collect and sort information in PLC. But you need a bridge between "PLC" and "Internet Database" - Its other type of programmer. 1. It shall be review of PLC code and required information set for Data exchange. 2. PLC engineer will find a way how to send information from PLC to Ethernet network (Using standart manufacturer devices - that why it is important which equipment from which manufacturer will be used. 3. High-level programmer will create some way to collect information from Ethernet network and to push it in SQL database. At end of all - with your current specification - you will waste you time without result. Job can be divided into steps and these steps can be milestones for your project. Regards, Pavel Syzranov

Hi! I'm suggesting/offering the following: -implement a UDP socket to the Codesys program for sendig the data -implement another UDP socket to the SQL Server side (running on a Linux machine, right?) -execute the SQL queries in the same code which handles the receiving end @ the server. How would this sound like? IMO this should be fast and easy to implement.
