Developing new degree courses is a time-consuming and complicate process. Currently, this involves the use of many word processor documents which all need to be cross-referenced and checked as duplicated information can be found in each document, which is time consuming to check and can often contain consistency errors. In this project you will research, design, build and test a web based system for developing course material. Modules and course information will be entered into a database and documentation produced dynamically to prevent the need for time consuming duplication. Ideally this project would build on top of the functionality of a common CMS system such as Wordpress or Joomla and may take for the form of a plug-in. If this is done to a suitable quality, it is possible that this could lead to publication as conference or journal paper. Skills needed: programming (PHP/Python etc), web development, databases, Linux, research skills
