Hi, I have worked in IoT Platform on WiFi enabled microcontroller for more than 2.5 years. Technologies form NFC,BLE to WiFi using 89C51 standalone controller to CC3200 WiFicontroller. As you asked we can detect weight and send data to a server which will be a connected network or we can just simply set an alarm for that.
