Create or modify PHP-script for exporting MYSQL-data to .XLS/s

The problem isn't with the file format being CSV it's just your PHP script just needs to just use UTF-8 encoding and proper comma placement to achieve your desired results. I can modify your existing php script to get the desired result and still retain the CSV file format. That way you can ensure complete compatibility with all versions of Microsoft Excel and any other spreadsheet software in the future.

Hello. There is good PHP library named PHPExcel to generate correct XLS files (not CSV, just correct XLS). It works fine with UTF-8 and it even works with right to left texts (sure, it does not matter for you, just informing about workability). Also it will be possible to set auto width for cells, xls will looks great. I used this library in different projects with success, so sure I can solve your task using this library.
