As a database developer, excel and access master and trainer for the past 10+ years, I believe I am the best suited to get this project done for you. Since your entire system already exists, I would suggest moving it over to something like Microsoft Access first. The reason for this is that it remains local, and should be much easier for you to manage initially. Moving over to MySQL and PHP is possible, but I suspect (Strongly suspect) that getting your system to work they way it used to, won't be ease at all. With Access it is pretty much guaranteed. Furthermore, with Microsoft Access we can split the system in to a front-end, the part that your staff work with, and a back-end, which stores the actual data. Additionally we can have user logins, and we could go for auditing or keeping track of who booked what and when or who changed and deleted what and when. Over all I think that Access will be a much better and much more applicable alternative. It also has the added benefit of being able to create professional forms, and you'll have a walk in the park drawing up reports, something that MySQL and PHP and mostly any other database systems except for Access are either lacking, needs extra purchases or is a pain to develop. Should you want, you can at a much later stage move the system over to SQL or MySQL. But I do believe it will handle your data the best.
