Build a Statistical Database Website for AFL football

I am looking to build a database to house statistics on Australian Rules Football for the purpose of researching trends and performance by players under specific circumstances. These trends and statistics will help me pick teams to play daily fantasy competitions in AFL. The database needs to be web-based. It only needs to be functional as it will be for personal use - design should be limited to the most simple way to display queries of the database. I mean limited - simple tables using black text and borders on a white background and blue text links are fine. I wish to place all resources into building the database and querying it, not making it look “pretty”. I currently have hosting with HostGator so will be hosting the database there. I have some experience working with MySQL and PHP and believe it to be the best way to store the statistics and display the queries we have for certain circumstances. I will be sourcing statistical data manually and recording in CSV format. I will require the database to be setup to import this data with minimum fuss. I have created a folder in Google Drive which contains a document titled 'Database Specs' - this provides further information around this project which did not fit in my posting. It outlines sample data and mock queries, with 2 Google Sheets documents containing data and queries outlined in the Specs file. In time I may look to develop this database into a fully-fledged website so further work may be available, but a simple design for personal use is more than satisfactory at this stage. I also envisage this to be an ongoing project of mine for many years so future work may be available as I look to upgrade the power and functionality of the website.
