VB6 only. This is a simple program. It is very straight forward in its needs. I do not want a large, fancy, full of bells and whistles, totally loaded with options program. Must NOT use forms2 (Microsoft Forms 2.0 Object). This is a "Where am I?" program. It tells me what web page I am looking at on the net. Form1, Command1, Textbox1, Textbox2, Textbox3, Textbox4, Option Explict. On load of Form1, Form1 is placed on top of all other windows. Form1 remains on top. Seperately from this program, open Internet Explorer and go to a web page. When Internet Explorer starts to open a web page (starts to load or starts to open, not already loaded) [login to view URL] shows that web page's address; and [login to view URL] shows that web page's title (in unicode if necessary). IF INTERNET EXPLORER CAN SHOW THIS, THEN SO CAN VB6. VB6 WORKS IN UNICODE. VB6 CAN SEE EVERYTHING THAT INTERNET EXPLORER DOES. VB6 CAN SEE EVERY EVENT THAT FIRES IN INTERNET EXPLORER. No question marks (?????) when a non-English web page title is being shown. When Command1 is clicked, [login to view URL] becomes what [login to view URL] is; and [login to view URL] becomes what [login to view URL] is. To show me that this this works on the Internet (Not just locally in the US - the ENTIRE Internet) here are some example addresses that must work: If these address show up with ANY question marks then this program is a total failure. (in English) [login to view URL] (in Japanese) [login to view URL] (in Hong Kong(ese?)) [login to view URL] (in Chinese) [login to view URL] (in German) [login to view URL] (in French) [login to view URL] (in Korean) [login to view URL] And all links on those pages, and in those languages must show the web page address (in http format) and the title of the page (in whatever font is necessary to show the language). Must NOT use forms2 (Microsoft Forms 2.0 Object). ## Deliverables Must NOT use Microsoft Forms 2.0 Object. I do not care what the argument is for it; the answer is "No." If it is reasonable, I require an simple exe to show me that you can do this. (NO uncompiled code up front. I do not want it. I will not accept it if sent.) Must not use screen capture. I prefer NOT to use a timer in this program, but rather for vb6 to see when Internet Explorer fires the event of opening a new web page and at that time get the web page and the web page's title. If a timer is necessary, and NO ONE bids that they can do it without a timer, then a timer will be considered. Must NOT use Microsoft Forms 2.0 Object. * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Wednesday May 24, 2006 8:26:20 AM: I see that I have had to rewrite some of the bid request. Thanks to some very fine work by some extraordinarily fast coding, I almost purchased this, but I found out that forms2 was used. Forms2 can NOT be used anywhere in this program. NO forms2 will be accepted. Any use of Forms2 will be total failure of the code to match the bid request. Further note the following: IE is opened by the user. Then seperately, the program is run. The program tells me the http and title of the already opened window. The user does not see any other IE window open at all, anywhere. The user clicks on or goes to another web page in the seperate IE window. The program tells me the new http and title of the newly opened web page. The user does not see any other IE window open at all, anywhere. If the user sees any IE window opened by (or launched by) the program in any manner, then this program will be unacceptable. Code that does this can be found free on the internet USING FORMS2. If I am willing to use forms2 then I do not even need to go here and pay money. I want this written without forms2. No forms2. gk477 * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Thursday May 25, 2006 9:39:35 AM: NOT that everyone is doing this, but: Sorry to have to say this, but now I am getting messages that people are willing to write the code BUT with precompiled controls. How does that help me learn how to write in vb6, if I use a crutch of someone else's precompiled code? That does not help at all. First it was with Microsoft forms2 (a total yuck), now it is with some controls that I can not see the code for and can not modify the code for and can not learn to program in VB6 from. I am paying for code. VB6 code. Code that I can learn from how to do this project. Come on. I am putting up money for CODE. The exe is NOT the thing that I want. I want to be able to look at the entire program's code and learn how to write a similar program in vb6. Is this asking too much? gk477 * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Tuesday May 30, 2006 12:21:36 PM: Thank you all so very much for bidding. I have chosen bids from two coders, one with a lot of experience at rentacoder and one with no experience at rentacoder. In this process, I have learned that there are a great many ways to approach a project, and many of which the buyer is not aware until the bids start comming in. Next time, if rentacoder has extended their limit on the word limit for bid request descriptions, to maybe 20,000 words or so (or made a sperate page for super-long additions to a regular bid's description) with attatchments, then I can give more explainations up front. *(RAC NOTE TO BUYER...you can already post 30,000 characters in the deliverables field and also post an attachment of whatever length you desire to your bid request).* The bidders on rentacoder have impressed me with their agressiveness to bid this project, and I thank you all. gk477 * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Tuesday May 30, 2006 12:23:47 PM: TO ALL BIDDERS. BIDDING IS CLOSED. Thank you for your bid. I have accepted two bids already. But, when I did, rentacoder split them off from this area and is not posting here that the bidding is closed. But, bidding is closed. Thank you for your bid. BIDDING IS CLOSED. * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Friday Jun 9, 2006 9:01:40 AM: Dog gone. Dang. Crud. ARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!! Now a bidder that I accepted (with a HUGE resume that braggs about a LOT of experience) is 7 days overdue. 7 days overdue, and his resume is bigger than my ... umm ... shoe size. What is the problem here? I can write a program, ALL in vb6, NO Forms2, No third party controls, that WORKS! EVERY time a new web page is opened, my program shows it in a list. EVERY time it lists it correct. NO PROBLEM. It works. But, it is huge, takes a lot of code to force to work, and has a lot of serious logic work-a-rounds to force vb6 to do this. And get this: I am NOT an advanced coder. I am a carpenter. Get it? I am NOT a programmer by trade. I make a living swinging a hammer as a carpenter. Duh... Do you people simply copy code from places like Planet Source Code and pretend to be coders? Do you write long impressive resumes and bragg about yourself while not knowing squat about VB? What is the problem? This can't be the case. Surely, I simply got some bad apples and I need to reopen this and consider other bids. KERRAAPP ! Do not send me a bid that says that you already wrote a program that is "like" this and that I can use it instead. I do not want something "like" this. I asked for a simple project. Not a lot of buttons. Not a lot of controls. Really simple. I can get programs "like" this on Planet Source Code. Dang. Crud. AARRRRRGGGGGGGHH ! Bidding is reopened. Obviously the people at rentacoder read this and everything here, so, if you have any suggestions, tell me. I want this code. I want it to work. I do not want some dingbat idiot third-party brain-dead precompiled controls added. I do not want Microsoft's unsupported Forms2 anywhere close to this program. I want VB6 code that is all there, visible, and for me to see how this is done. I can do this. M E! Already! I do not want to do this MY way as it is too very long; the code for how I can do this makes my head spin it is so complicated. This is rentacoder! Not some kindergarten! Do I need to make suggestions to the coders how this can be done? You could catch IE when it is opening and download the sourced code for the page seperate from IE, getting the And, since using the I could give you a long long long list of other things that will NOT work, as I have tried them: remember I am NOT a programmer by trade and I have been writing this by trial and a huge amount of orrer. But, I found what WILL work. You must, and I say MUST get the font and the front script that Microsoft uses for the title of the web page when they show it in IE. Can you do this? I can without any Forms2, and without any low-life scum dirtbag brain-dead third party controls. AND I am not a programmer by trade. Suggestions: You might consider catching the address (http://www.duhhhh.) of the web page that IE is opening and grab the source (NOT FROM IE - download it seperately!) and then, inside of the VB6 program open a subclassed IE and grab the font and font script from that. HA! That means that you would be forcing Microsoft to do their illogic on the page and you would be getting the resultant (direct from Microsoft's illogic) page title in the font and font script that Microsoft decides to use; so if their illogic changes over time (sometimes they crash and burn mentally like in going from vb6 to vb."gag"net), then the program will not have to be re-written, it will follow Microsoft's changing decision of font and font script per language. Don't explain subclassing for me and why this will or will not work; I don't have time to learn, but it makes sense since you can see a lot and have a lot of control over a subclassed thingamagig whatever it is. Don't use screen capture to get the font and font script. I can do that and don't want you to tell me how to do that. If you don't understand how to do that, and do not want a migrane, then do not even start on the logic. Just know that I can already do that and I am not a professional programmer. Suggestion: You might consider opening a web page INSIDE of the VB6 program and not subclassing that, but looking it some other way. Just keep it invisible to the user. I do not want to see it on the screen even for a micro-micro second. Got it? This is a simple program. Make it work. Bid. Get it done. Make money. gk477 ## Platform Must NOT use Microsoft Forms 2.0 Object. Must work in Windows XP Pro. Must work with VB6. Must NOT have any ".net" at all.
