I am using RFC1213 to look at TCP counters. At one customer site, some of the 32-bit integer fields overflow. I did a set to try to reset these to 0 but am not able to do it. I get a message saying the object is 'Not Writable'. I assume that is because the ACCESS type is READ-ONLY.
See sample definition from the MIB below:
tcpInSegs OBJECT-TYPE
SYNTAX Counter
ACCESS read-only
STATUS mandatory
DESCRIPTION
"The total number of segments received, including those received in error. This count includes segments received on currently established connections." ::= { tcp 10 }
Is there any way to reset this counter?
