Need An Ajax / Jquery Modal Window Script modification

I have written a php script with javascript spry validation
and server side php validation.
I want an expert on Ajax/Jquery to help modify the script
so that a modal window showing animated gif will display while my script
is processing.
I still want my script to work as it is - the javascript spry and php
validation will still be there - the modal window will not appear
immediately on form submit but after all the js and php validation.
The modal window should stop after the script has finished processing
and let the php script echo out the success message.
