Let say a user have a 60min long video (avi/mp4/mkv) file and upload it to my website.

How can the server download ONLY the first minute of the video, stops and get a redeable video file?

I don't want to download the whole video then SPLIT it using ffmpeg for example. Uploading the whole video would be too long.

I want a code in JavaScript/PHP (avoid Java or Flash)

In short, I want to make a sample of a video from a whole video file without having to download the whole file on the server.
