I need a cookie and a PHP website function.
Please see the following specification:
1. When URL [login to view URL] is visited, a "Shopping cart closed" is shown.
2. When the same URL is visited through a time-stamped URL, say, [login to view URL], shopping cart is shown as open and remains open for this user until 12-8-2014 + 4 days
3. IMPORTANT: If the same user tries to enter the URL with a different date, the first registered date should be the one used. Meaning, if the user tries to manipulate the date in the URL and thereby change the cart open dates, the user will not be able to do this unless the cookie is removed from the users computer.
4. The cart should close at 12 PM PST US time on the fourth day.

1. The cookie function to display "cart closed" can be done.
2. When url is submitted with date - the cart will open ( at the first submission) until the date + 4 days.
3. if any other date is submitted second time then only the first date will be used, and only if the cookie is removed, then the date will be updated.
4. The cart will close at the said date when the user tries to open.
5. We would like to know where to implement this functionality. Is the website already ready ? In which platform the site has been developed ?

I am a UK uni student studying computing currently on summer break and have been programming php, html and css for several years.
if I under stand you right you need a web page with a time out for a e-commerce website based on the data in the users URL string. so the user can only access the web page for a short period of time. this new feature probably needs to be integrated into an existing php site.
I plan on coding this feature with a simple php function to read the URL and right this to a cookie. if the cookie exists check the content of the cookie and compare with the the data plus the 4 days
