I need help with a one-page Flash-based front end to a web application I am building for myself that organizes research notes in a database. The web application is using PHP/MySQL-based. The front-end Flash page should display groups of notes (each group will have a name, like "PHP Programming Books"). I found a site that has a *similar* visual interface, but not for the same purpose (see [login to view URL]). In the [login to view URL] Flash page, you can turn 'laptops' on/off and they automatically connect to one another when they are close. You can move the laptops around on the page. In addition to displaying the note groups (as circles), I'd like some method of manually making connection lines between groups, and when a group is moved to the middle of the page, the circle gets larger or perhaps changes color (meaning it's more important). I want to be able to use the front-end page to 1) link groups together, and 2) change which group(s) are most **important** to me at any given time. VERY IMPORTANT - Additional details follow in Deliverables, including a basic requirements list. ## Deliverables So, here are the basic requirements that the deliverable should perform: 1. Make a Flash-based "idea group display" using Adobe/Macromedia Flash 2. The Flash page/movie should reads a file (XML) containing records of: note group ID, note group name, note group link/URL, location of group name on the screen, the number of notes in the group, and information about connection links between this note group and other note groups (if any connections exist). 3. Display the note group circles, and within the circles, display the note group name, and under the name, display the number of note entries that make up this group. These will be two VARCHAR fields passed in the XML file. 4. The user will be able to click on a note group circle and 'connect' it to another. A connection will be made with a visual line. 5. The user will be able to somehow click on a connection line between two note group circles and delete the line. 6. When the user moves any note group circles that are connected to others, the lines should move with the note group circles. 7. Optional - but if possible - Note group circles and connecting lines cannot overlap. If there is going to be an overlap, the note group circles nearby will move automatically to accomodate the new location of the note group circle that the user is moving (see the example Flash page/move I gave for how this behavior might look). 8. Have a Save button soimewhere on the display that will write out the XML of the system - sending it as an HTTP POST to the server so that the connection lines and locations of the note group circles can be saved to the database. 9. Allow for some parameter on the input file (or an HTML param for the Flash movie) that makes the system "unchangeable" and when this is set, the Flash page/movie only reads and displays the note group circles. 10. Up to 128 objects should be allowed on the Flash page/movie window 11. The Flash page/movie size should be 1024 by 768 (or the closest dimensions that make sense) 12. If the user clicks on the note group name within the note group circle, and a note group link/URL exists, the Flash page/movie should browse to that page. Note 1: The programmer should create a sample XML input file to use with their Flash movie. I can assist with this definition, but it hasn't been set yet. Note 2: The programmer needs to show that changes to the note group display can be passed out of the Flash movie back to the server. Note 3: This Flash page/movie does not need to be able to let the user add new group names. When requested, the XML file will be generated by the main application from the notes database ALSO - The deliverable must include: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Should be viewable in IE and Firefox.
