Dashboard, Reporting & Alerting

A fairly major piece of work that I'm looking for quotes on - first some prerequisites - you really have to have experience and be able to provide second line support for changes, enhancements and fixes, and a price can be agreed for this yearly support. Without this guarantee, no bid will be accepted. English language skills must be high, as all the specifications will be quite specific, with other language skills important, as I want the resulting application to be 2-byte character enabled with multi-lingual support, although probably only delivered in english. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). Now, onto the project - quite an exciting one, with a customer waiting for it to be delivered, so it's not a "pie in the sky" for someone - we have real demand for this application We need a digital dashboard, with non-intrusive sources of data. The dashboard will have 2 components, a presentation layer, and a server-side application. The server side application needs to run 24/7 for reasons I'll go into shortly. The presentation layer must run in a browser, - not a thick client, as it may be accessed via intranet, or internet, depending on client preferences. We're looking for something a bit like the product that international presence offers, a system that sits over multiple databases reading in the data, and passing to the presentation layer for formatting and viewing, or sending out alerts that have been defined in the presentation layer. The alternative back-up plan to development is to deploy on of these tools, although it's not really ideal. The dashboard will need 3 distinct modes of operation, an adminstration mode, a designer mode, and a user mode. The Admin mode will be used to add/change/delete users, and which dashboards they can view. The design view is used to create or change/clone a dashboard view, and add components into it - the components will have their own SQL behind them, and properties that are definable by the designer - and each element or component on the dashboard can be grouped into sections - the sections can then be minimised to give a clean view in a busy screen. Types of components are graphs, rev-counter style dials, crystal style reports that can be viewed or printed, and alerts that can be selectable and triggered to deliver a message to email, fax, SMS, http posting etc. (email minimum requirement for phase 1) Technology - The database needed we would prefer that DB/2 is used, as we have support capability for this, although if others such as SQLserver are needed, it isn't a show stopper. The serverside app we would prefer something we can support, such as Java, and something that can run on multiple platforms - although not 100% necessary. The components used to run or develop the custom application I'll leave to you, but must be stable and supportable - especially so on runtime components. There will also be a number of future developments, so there will be work for further developments in the future, as well as support. This will be one of those application where the customer(s) will repeatedly come back asking for more! Prefer AIX, Linux, OS/400 or Windows - Websphere preferred so it can run on a multiple number of platforms. DB/2 is the preferred database for internal use, although others will be considered.
