For many years I used iphoto and have a lot of graded photos and photo albums. Apple are now forcing me to transition to the new software - Apple Photo - and I need to have tat done. For various security reasons I do NOT wish/cannot use icloud. I also need a quick lesson on the new software. Say a one day project. There are a number of Photo Albums/Apple Books which I have created and may need an additional copy printed by Apple at some point. I understand that these can be retained and additional copies made – but how? It appears that the old i-photo software/content gets erased on transfer to Apple Photo. Before that happens I would like to back it up onto an external drive that I have.

I see what you need. So you need the iPhoto’s backed up without iCloud am I right? I know a way to do that. I can show you how to.
