Connect 4 standalone HP Procurve switches with Meraki MS 250-48 running RSTP

I'm trying to connect 4 HP switches connected via uplink trunks and in a standalone configuration to a new Meraki MX250. I see the devices come online but the Meraki device is unable to ping the IP addresses. It can only ping via the mac address. The HP switches have the default route going to another firewall, i'm working to by pass. I setup static routes and need some help getting this sorted out. Looking to have someone guide me through this. The HP switches are the current production network, so I'm looking for minimal config to get this setup.
